Chennai Super Kings begin pre-season training camp at Chepauk – Reports

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have begun their preparations for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The Yellow Army began their pre-season camp on Saturday (March 2) at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.

The first group of local players joined the team for the upcoming season and a few more players are expected to join soon. Players like Simarjeet Singh, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Mukesh Choudhary, Prashant Solanki, Ajay Mandal and Deepak Chahar are among the players who have started training.

The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) confirmed the development and said that local Indian players have joined the team and started training. Speaking to PTI, he explained: “The first batch of local (Indian) players arrived on Friday and more are expected to arrive in the coming days.”

All eyes will be on Deepak Chahar as the upcoming season will be important for him. The exciting fast bowler has missed a lot of cricket lately due to injuries and personal reasons, which is why he opted out of the Australia, South Africa and Afghanistan T20Is.

Deepak Chahar has also reached full fitness ahead of IPL 2024. The upcoming edition of the league will be crucial for him as a T20 World Cup spot in the Indian team is also at stake. The fast bowler would like to make a statement and take back the claim from him.

Apart from Deepak Chahar, Ruturaj Gaikwad also joined the team for IPL 2024. The franchise posted a photo of him arriving at the team hotel. The tournament will also be a comeback for him as he missed quite a few matches for the Indian team due to injuries.

It will be vital for the team in the next edition. Since recent seasons he has been a pillar of the team at the top of the standings. He would also like to shine on a big stage and defend the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Chennai Super Kings will play the tournament opener of IPL 2024. The first match of the season will be the southern derby as the defending champions will take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The match will take place at the Chepauk Stadium March 22nd.

The upcoming season is expected to be the last for MS Dhoni in the league. The wicketkeeper-batsman would like to end his career on a high by defending the title. He will be joining the team soon as he was recently seen with his wife at Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding function.
