Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are all set for their next clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) today at 3.30 pm at CSK’s home ground, MA Chidambaram Stadium. The match is crucial for both sides as neither of them are performing consistently in the ongoing IPL 2026 season.
Before the match, CSK is ahead of GT in the points table. In their previous match, they simply crushed arch-rivals Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, while GT suffered a loss against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
IPL 2026: CSK vs GT Preview:
The 37th match of IPL 2026 will be very important as there are still several teams active in the fight for the play-offs. CSK started their campaign on a low note, but as soon as Sanju Samson and a few other players improved, the team’s performance improved. In 7 matches, Chennai Super Kings have achieved 3 wins and 4 losses. Interestingly, these three wins they have achieved in their previous five matches are proof of their rejuvenated form.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and his boys will take on the Gujarat Titans with home advantage. Sanju Samson, who has already recorded a couple of centuries in the season, will look to continue his form today as well. GT bowlers may face big challenges if Samson takes off early in the match. For CSK, their middle ground and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad’s poor run of form remain concerns.
On the other hand, the GT’s overall performance hasn’t been bad so far. They lost four games out of seven, mainly due to losing control at crucial moments in their previous games. The form of Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill and Jos Buttler is the key asset for the Gujarat Titans.
Talking about the bowlers, CSK pacer Anshul Kamboj has been leading the pace attack in the absence of Khaleel Ahmed, who has been ruled out of IPL 2026 due to injury. The duo of Noor Ahmed and Akeal Hosein can play a decisive role in the match. For GT, they will have in-form pacers like Prasidh Krishna and Kagiso Rabada, who can make an impact at important stages of the game. The Chennai pitch is traditionally known for supporting spinners. Gujarat Titans will have Rashid Khan in their side.
