Gujarat Titans (GT) batsman Shubman Gill spoke about his performances at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He said he is delighted that his hard work is going in the right direction as he practiced a lot before the season and also changed his technique.
Shubman Gill gave his best in the IPL as he set the stage on fire and was the highest run scorer in the league. The GT starter defined the term class in the 17 games he played this season while tearing up races for fun and drawing the attention of many.

Shubman Gill’s impressive performances led him to win Tournament MVP this year. He also won the Orange Cap and broke a host of records this season. He was the main reason behind the success of his team this season.

Shubman Gill said it was important for him to start the season on a high. He noted that he was disappointed in himself for not making starts in the early part of the season. Speaking at the post-match presentation, he said:
“It means a lot, my hard work is going in the right direction. We couldn’t win the final, but it was a great game. It is very important to start well and I started well, I was getting 40 and 50 and at the end of the tournament I made them great. I practiced a lot, I changed my technique for the kill and it has gone well for me.

Shubman Gill also talked about the three hundred he’s scored this season. He said that everything was different as he came in different settings. He elaborated:
“All the hundreds were quite different, SRH’s was about control and MI’s was knowing which bowlers to go after. I picked the right bowlers and controlled the situation well.”
Shubman Gill will now head to England where he will join Team India for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia from 7 June.
