Anrich Nortje was going through a difficult time – Rishabh Pants

Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant revealed the decision to bowl Rasikh for the crucial 19th over in place of Anrich Nortje. He highlighted the importance of having a fit bowler.

“(In picking Rasikh for 19th) Nortje was going through a tough time. T20 is a fun game, after 14-15 overs the ball was coming good. So we wanted to trust Rasikh, always trust someone who plays well I think it comes down to instincts as a captain, sometimes he will come out happy that it worked today,” said Rishabh Pant.

Earlier, the Capitals lost three wickets for 44 runs in the powerplay. However, Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel added a 113-run stand for the fourth wicket. Axar scored 66 runs off 43 balls, while Pant scored 88 off 43 balls. The team reached 224 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs.

The Rishabh Pant-led team will take on Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians (MI) in their next match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday, April 27.
