Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has broken a massive record in T20 history. The Pat Cummins-led team achieved the highest powerplay score in the history of the shortest format of the game, registering 125 runs in just 6 overs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad achieved the feat in the ongoing match against Delhi Capitals in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The 35th match of the tournament between the teams will take place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday (April 20).

Sunrisers Hyderabad, who were asked to bat first, came out firing and produced a sensational effort with the bat. Opener Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma went berserk and showed no mercy to the Delhi Capitals bowlers at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Travis Head started the innings on a high when he hit a six off the second ball of the innings and then never looked back. He was at his best and made sure to make the Delhi Capitals bowlers look clueless in his stadium. He kicked all the players out of the park at once.

While he was at his best, Abhishek Sharma at the other end joined him and made sure to keep things hot at the other end as well. The duo achieved a hundred stand in just 5 overs. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 100 in 5 overs is the fastest team hundred in any T20 league in the world.

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma made sure to make the most of the power plays. His brutal batting in the powerplay ensured that Sunrisers Hyderabad finished with 125 runs in the powerplay, which is the highest in IPL and T20 history.

While Abhishek Sharma died after scoring 46 runs off 12 balls, Travis Head scored 89 runs off just 32 balls. They put on a brutal batting display and took their team off the wheel at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, adding 131 runs for the opening stand.
