The 21st match of EMI vs VIP ILT20 2024 will be played in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, February 4. This is the first of two games on Sunday starting at 4 pm IST.
Both teams come into this match after a victory in their previous match. The Emirates won against the Sharjah Warriors and the Vipers defeated the Gulf Giants. The Emirates will be led by Nicholas Pooran, while the Vipers by Kiwi opener Colin Munro. The Vipers defeated the Emirates in the previous meeting between the two teams.
In their previous game against the Sharjah Warriors, the Emirates bowlers dismissed their opponents for just 129. Waqar Salamkheil took three wickets, Akeal Hosein and Trent Boult took two and Fazalhaq Farooqi took one. MI openers added an 80-run stand after which Nicholas Pooran (24*) and Andre Fletcher (22*) took them over the winning line.
Desert Vipers chased down 161 in their previous match against Sharjah Warriors. Munro scored 51 off 36 in the chase after Alex Hales scored 44 to set up the chase. Azam Khan then made a cameo 20-ball 50* to help the Vipers win the match in 17 overs.
MI Emirates lost their previous match against the Desert Vipers and will look to level the contest on Sunday. A win also helps the Emirates maintain their position at the top of the points table. A victory for the Vipers can put them above the Knight Riders in the points table.
ILT20 2024 is a T20 franchise tournament in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is a six-team event and the final will be played on February 17. The United Arab Emirates has become a center of national T20 tournaments and the successful hosting of IPL 2020 and 2021 has made the UAE a top priority for T20 cricket. The flat terrain adds to the stroke play and spectacle of the tournament.
Emirates leads the points table with four wins and 10 points. The Knight Riders are in second place, followed by the Vipers, Capitals and Warriors with three wins each. The Gulf Giants sit in last place with just two wins in six games.

The matches will be played at three venues in Sharjah, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Sharjah will host eight matches of ILT20 2024, including Qualifier 2. Dubai will host 15 matches, including Qualifier 1 and the final on February 17. Abu Dhabi will host 11 games, including the Eliminator.
The league phase ends on February 11. Qualifier 1 will be played in Dubai on February 13 followed by the Qualifier in Abu Dhabi on February 14. Qualifier 2 will be played in Sharjah on February 15 and the return final in Dubai on February 17.
