England national cricket team batsman Dawid Malan has decided to retire from his international career. The left-hander, who was England’s number one ranked batsman in the T20I rankings, announced his decision to retire on Wednesday (August 28) but will continue to play in T20 leagues around the world.
Dawid Malan represented the England national cricket team in 22 Test matches, 30 ODIs and 62 T20Is. He made vital contributions to the team in all three formats and was one of those elegant left-handed batsmen who impressed many with his strokeplay. He is one of two English batsmen to have scored a century in all three formats along with Jos Buttler.
The last time Dawid Malan played for the England national cricket team was in the 2023 ICC World Cup, which was held in India. However, after that, he was sidelined. He made the decision to retire from international cricket after not being named in the squad for the upcoming white-ball series against the Australia national cricket team.
