The second edition of the Women’s Premier League 2024 will take place this year. BCCI has revealed that the WPL 2024 final will take place from March 17 in India. However, some England women are under stress as the 2024 WPL final has a close clash with their upcoming T20I series in New Zealand. Therefore, they could lose their WPL 2024 contracts.

England Women will tour New Zealand in March 2024 for a five-match T20I series. The T20I series begins on March 19 with the opening match in Dunedin, New Zealand. Therefore, it will be almost impossible for England players to participate in the opening match and reach New Zealand on time.

Besides, England Women Players who remain in India until the WPL 2024 final will not be considered by the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board) for the T20Is in New Zealand. Therefore, they will miss the selection. The ECB will reveal the England women’s squad for the New Zealand T20I series next week.

7 players from England are part of the WPL 2024

A total of 7 players from England will participate in WPL 2024. They are Alice Capsey, Issy Wong, Nat Sciver-Brunt, Kate Cross, heather knight, Sophie Ecclestone and Danni Wyatt. Additionally, England women’s coach Jon Lewis is the coach of the UP Warriorz team.

Alice Capsey is part of Delhi Capitals, Kate Cross and Heather Knight play for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Issy Wong and Nat Sciver-Brunt are at Mumbai Indians, and Sophie Ecclestone and Daniel Wyatt They are part of UP Warriorz.

England players therefore risk missing the New Zealand T20I series or WPL 2024 contracts. Heather Knight has made herself available for the New Zealand tour. Lauren Bell canceled her plans to play in WPL 2024. Notably, England’s female players are paid the same as male players by the ECB.

England Women’s tour of New Zealand 2024 will witness 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs

England women’s tour of New Zealand 2024 will begin on March 19 with the opening match at University Oval, Dunedin. The tour will observe 5 T20Is and 3 ODIs. The second T20I will take place on March 22 at Saxton Oval, Nelson, while the third T20I is scheduled to be played on March 24 at the same venue.

The final two T20I matches will be played on March 27 and 29 at Basin Reserve in Wellington. Starting April 1, both the teams will battle each other in a three-match ODI series. The opening match will be played at Basin Reserve in Wellington.

The final two fixtures will take place at Seddon Park in Hamilton. While the full schedule for the England Women vs New Zealand Women series is now available, both teams are yet to announce their squads.

Meanwhile, BCCI has released the complete schedule of WPL 2024. The tournament will be played from February 23 to March 17. Bombay Indians Women won the first edition of WPL 2023.
