ENGLAND FORM: BROOK’S MEN SLUMP TO TWO-GAME DEFICIT
After reducing Australia to 221/9 bowling first at Headingley, England let the tourists off the hook, allowing them to add 49 for the final wicket and get up to 270. That proved too big a score for the English batters to chase against a formidable Aussie bowling attack, who bowled the hosts out for 202 with no batter reaching a half-century.

AUSTRALIA FORM: PACERS SPEARHEAD 14TH SUCCESSIVE TRIUMPH
Australia went into the interval of the second ODI with momentum following Alex Carey’s brilliant 74 batting with the tail to help them reach 270 when it looked like they would end up with significantly less. The Aussie fast bowlers then took over, reducing England to 65/5 before the 10-over-mark, eventually bowling them out with just over 40 over bowled, winning by 68 runs.

ENGLAND BETTING ANALYSIS
Although it was only a score of 49, wicket-keeper-batter Jamie Smith once again showed an indication of his quality against a top-class Australian bowling attack. Batting at number five, Smith should be afforded enough time to put together another good score in this one and bettors should consider a small stake on the Surrey star to top score for a second game running.
AUSTRALIA BETTING ANALYSIS
The two juggernauts of Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood broke the back of England’s top order across last match’s run chase. Starc picked up three wickets, whilst Hazlewood gained two and all-rounder Aaron Hardie also deserves a mention with two scalps of his own. But it’s Starc’s left-arm pace that provides the point of difference that adds a layer of class to Australia’s side and England’s batters struggles against him throughout. If he plays, back Starc to gain another 2+ wickets here.
ENGLAND VS AUSTRALIA EXPERT PREDICTION
England so far have been comprehensively outplayed with both bat and ball across this series and it’s difficult to see that changing on a ground and in conditions that may well prove beneficial for seamers once again. When taking into account rotation, the sensible move would be to back the Australians as a whole to gain victory, rather focusing entirely on one player, although make sure to keep an eye on the weather forecast throughout.
