The English begin their World Cup campaign by playing New Zealand in a rematch of the 2019 World Cup final on October 5 in Ahmedabad. The 2023 ICC World Cup will be played in a round-robin format, similar to 2019 World Cup. The 10 teams will play each other once in the league stage followed by the knockout stages. India is the unanimous host of the 2023 World Cup after co-hosting the 1987, 1996 and 2011 editions along with Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The 46-day tournament will be played at 10 venues in India. Along with Ahmedabad, the other host cities include Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune.

After starting their campaign against New Zealand, the English play Bangladesh, Afghanistan and South Africa in their next three games. They then play Group Stage Qualifier Two followed by games against Australia and India.
