Just give them a specific role – Atiq-uz-Zaman
Atiq-uz-Zaman claimed that there were too many selfish people in the coaching staff. He said that the best support should come with clearly defined roles for everyone. He stressed the need for proper communication, such as informing players that no ball can be hit into the net.
“They had a bad coaching staff. They had too many people around them. There were too many egos in the dressing room among the coaching staff. They should have minimised it and you have to keep as few people as possible but give them the best support possible. And everyone, every coach, every player, should have their role. Just give them a specific role,” Atiq-uz-Zaman added.
“If nobody has to throw an unmarked ball into the nets, it should be communicated in team meetings and say: look, this is the policy at the nets. You are not allowed to throw an unmarked ball. If you don’t throw an unmarked ball, any of my coaches will shout it out. Then the players would know. That’s why these things happen when they don’t communicate properly.”
Geo News reported that Shaheen and Yousuf had a heated exchange during Pakistan’s tour of England and Ireland. Shaheen allegedly told Yousuf to stay out of his business when Yousuf pointed out that he was overstepping the nets. Such incidents also occurred during the 2024 T20 World Cup.
