Pakistan, the reigning champion of the Champions Trophy, organizes an ICC tournament for the first time since 1996, when the country was coanfrerion of the Odi World Cup along with India and Sri Lanka. However, this edition of the Champions Trophy is carried out in a hybrid model. India will play all his Champions Trophy games in Dubai after his refusal to travel to Pakistan due to security concerns. The Men In Blue will open the campaign with a group A against Bangladesh on Thursday. India will then block the horns against Pakistan on February 23 before facing New Zealand on March 2.

Group B is made up of Australia, England, South Africa and debutants of the Afghanistan tournament.
