Big Blow for LSG As Another Fast Bowler Goes Down Injured in IPL 2025

Langer has the hope that on the back of IPL 2025, the pacer will be in shape and ready to play for the team.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will begin its IPL 2025 season against Delhi Capitals without four of its main Indian fast bowling players. Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan and Akash Deep are injured and the opening game will be lost. Each of them is dealing with different types of injuries.

The rapid player Mayank Yadav was already recovering from a back injury, but now he has also picked up an injury on his foot. However, LSG chief coach Justin Langer hopes that Mayank will be in the way to play in the last part of IPL 2025.

Justin Langer gives an update of injuries to Mayank Yadav

Justin Langer, Lucknow Super Giants coach shared an update on Mayank Yadav’s injury. He said everyone was very excited about Mayank last year, and things were going well when he was recovering from his back injury. But during this time, Mayank accidentally hurt the foot kicking it in a bed. This caused an infection on the foot of the foot, which delayed its recovery in one or two weeks.

Langer mentioned that Mayank has now been training again and that they often see videos of him bowling. In fact, he saw a video by Mayank Bowling yesterday. Langer has the hope that on the back of IPL 2025, Mayank will be in shape and ready to play for the team.

“Mayank, whom everyone was very excited last year, was going quite well (returning from a back injury), and kicked his foot on the bed,” said Langer. “An infection was put on his foot. He has put his rehabilitation again approximately one week or two weeks. But he is in operation. We regularly see videos of him bowling. I saw a video of his yesterday. So, hopefully at the end of the tournament, Mayank will be ready and ready to go for us,” said Langer.

Mohsin Khan ruled out after a calf injury

Mohsin Khan, like Mayank Yadav, was one of the fast bowling players Lucknow Super Giants had retained on his team for IPL 2025. But now he has been discarded from the season. LSG has brought Shardul Thakur as his replacement.

On the other hand, chief coach Justin Langer sounded more positive about Avesh Khan and Akash Deep returning soon. Avesh is recovering from a knee problem, while Akash returns from a back injury.

Langer explained that Mohsin suffered a calf injury while making his rehabilitation. With four rhythm bowling players already injured, the team had to make a difficult decision to replace Mohsin. Langer also mentioned that Avesh Khan could be authorized to play for the NCA tomorrow. If that happens, I could return to the field very soon. Akash Deep is also close to full aptitude. Langer said Akash is 90% bowling and has passed his Yoyo exercise test. He feels that Akash is almost ready to return.

“Unfortunately, I think Mohsin suffered a small calf injury in his rehabilitation. So, knowing that we had four guys out, we had to make that hard call to Mohsin. We believe that birds Khan will pass his right to play tomorrow through the NCA. Then, if that is the case, then he will return sooner. He is really marking all the boxes.”

It will be interesting to see which rapid bowling Lucknow Super Giants choose for their first match against Delhi Capitals.
