Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja posted a special message after Team India’s special victory in the fourth Test against England in Ranchi. He said it was a big win for the team in Captain Cool MS Dhoni’s hometown.

In MS Dhoni’s hometown, India recorded a famous victory and clinched the Test series against England with a match still to go. The Rohit Sharma-led team showed a sensational performance with both bat and ball and ensured that the hosts clinched the series in the fourth game.

India had the worst start to the game as England outplayed them on the first two days of the game. What was admirable, however, was the way they got back into the game. They dominated the game for the last two days and made sure to emerge victorious.

England posted a total of 353 runs in the first innings and then with the ball they pinned the Indian team. They reduced the hosts to 177/7. But Dhruv Jurel’s reaction (90) brought them back into the game and helped them surpass 300 runs.

In the second innings, India made a sensational start with the ball. Ravichandran Ashwin picked a fifer, while Kuldeep Yadav bagged four and Ravindra Jadeja bagged one as the hosts bowled out their opponents for just 145 runs, setting a target of just 192 runs.

In the chase, India fell a little but Shubman Gill (52*) and Dhruv Jurel (39*) maintained the lead for the team. They batted quite maturely and ensured that India crossed the finish line and won the game by 5 wickets to go 3-1 up in the series.

Ravindra Jadeja played a pivotal role with the ball in the game. The all-rounder picked four wickets in the first innings and then contributed a wicket in the second innings. He also made useful contributions with the ball.

While sharing his excitement after the match, Ravindra Jadeja stated, “A great win in the hometown of the great captain.”

Batting at five, he struggled not to take risks – Sir Alastair Cook on Ravindra Jadeja

Former England captain Sir Alastair Cook recently shared his verdict on Ravindra Jadeja’s batting position. He said the all-rounder finds it difficult to take risks and should not bat at number 5 in Test cricket. Speaking to TNT Sports, he explained:

“Jadeja is a world-class all-rounder, but batting at five there he struggled not to take risks because he didn’t want to get out or try to put a bit of pressure back on as a batsman. But Jurel found that perfect balance with the movement of his feet and his mental acuity.”

Ravindra Jadeja has been exceptional in the series with bat and ball. The all-rounder has scored 217 runs with the bat and has also picked 17 wickets. He will next be seen in action when India takes on England in the fifth Test in Dharamsala, scheduled for March 7.
