Punjab Kings (PBKS) co-owner Preity Zinta expressed her admiration for former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni on a social media platform on Monday, May 6. Preity Zinta admitted to being a fan of MS Dhoni and wanted to allow him to score some big sixes against the Punjab bowlers.

MS Dhoni is considered one of the best cricketers in Indian cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL). He is currently playing under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad and IPL 2024 may mark the last season for him. The wicketkeeper-batsman resigned from the captaincy before the start of the season.

I wanted MS Dhoni to hit some big sixes – Preity Zinta

Preity Zinta participated in a chat session, #pzchat, where a fan expressed interest in watching MS Dhoni play for PBKS. The Bollywood actress revealed her own desire to have Dhoni in her team. Preity described the previous match as bittersweet as she wanted to see Dhoni score six and beat Punjab.

“Mom, we want Mrs. Dhoni in Punjab Kings,” asked a user on X (previously known as Twitter).

“Everyone loves him and everyone is his fan, including me. Yesterday was bittersweet. I wanted us to win and for him to score some big sixes, but we lost and he got out. The only positive point was that our players did very well in restricting them, but In the end it wasn’t enough,” Zinta responded.

MS Dhoni has been dismissed twice in two matches after remaining unbeaten for seven consecutive matches. He has scored 110 runs in 11 matches at an average of 55 and an impressive strike rate of over 224. The veteran cricketer continues to bat lower down the order despite public demand.
