With IPL 2024 underway in its final phase of the league stage, every match is of utmost importance and has the potential to decide the fate of a team.
While there are only eight league matches left in IPL 2024, there are still seven teams in the hunt for the playoffs. Kolkata Knight Riders are the only team that has booked their place in the playoffs, while Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings are already eliminated from the tournament.
Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans are still in the playoff race. Currently, all eyes are on the match between Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The start of the game has been delayed due to rain. There was a sandstorm in the city the day before the rain came. The weather conditions in Ahmedabad are not at all promising at the time of writing and it would not be very surprising if the game were ruined.

Qualification scenario for IPL 2024 if Gujarat Titans vs Kolkata Knight Riders game is scrapped:
If the game does not take place, GT will be eliminated from the ongoing IPL 2024. A failure means they can finish with a maximum of 13 points and will become the third team to be eliminated from IPL 2024. While failure will be bad news for GT, it will be good news for SRH, CSK, RCB, LSG and DC.
RR is almost guaranteed a place in the standings, as it already has 16 points. SRH, on the other hand, will have one less team to worry about if they end up losing the remaining two games and end up with 14 points. As for CSK, RCB, LSG and DC, they will be delighted to have at least one team out of the playoff race before taking the field for the remaining matches.
