He International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Thursday (March 21) the group stage matches for next Women’s qualifier for T20 World Cup 2024. The tournament will begin on April 25 and the summit clash will take place on May 7.
A total of 10 teams from Ireland, Netherlands, Scotland, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uganda, United Arab Emirates (UAE), United States of America (USA), Vanuatu and Zimbabwe will participate in the T20 World Cup Qualifier 2024 and The top two teams will advance to the main T20 World Cup 2024, which will take place in Bangladesh at the end of the year.
The teams have been divided into groups of two with five teams each. Sri Lanka, Thailand, Scotland, Uganda and the United States of America (USA) are placed in Group A, while Ireland, Zimbabwe, Netherlands, United Arab Emirates and Vanuatu are placed in Group B.
The T20 World Cup 2024 Qualifier will see a total of 20 matches between the teams. The two best teams in each group will play in the semifinals. The tournament’s two finalists will join eight other teams in the main event in Bangladesh later this year.
The T20 World Cup 2024 Qualifier will be completed over 5 days at two venues in Abu Dhabi, Tolerance Oval and Zayed Cricket Stadium. Both venues will see a day game and a night game during the group stage. The summit clash will be played on May 7 at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
