It seems unlikely that Ravichandran Ashwin will have a chance in the ODI format as the team already has the services of Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Ravichandran Ashwin did not have a chance in the 2021-23 WTC final against Australia. Ashwin would now aim for a place in India playing 11 against the West Indies. The test match will start on July 12, 2023.

Ravichandran Ashwin was seen speaking on his YouTube channel and said that Pakistan also had a quality stitching attack.
Ravichandran Ashwin was quite optimistic that Afghanistan will create upsets in the tournament.
“The recent games between India and Pakistan have been extraordinary. I think we can expect another great India-Pakistan game. It’s going to be an equally balanced game because Pakistan also have a quality seam attack.” said Ravichandran Ashwin.

“I feel like Afghanistan could challenge some teams this year. The last time, during the 2011 World Cup, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals. Of course, Bangladesh is a very good team.” he claimed.
“But I feel that Afghanistan will create some surprises this year. They played very well during the last World Cup as well. But in these conditions, you really can’t get past him with fast bowling. We all know his turning power with Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Noor Ahmad and Zakir Khan.” added.
