The development of the all-rounder was visible long before the IPL season started. Cameron Green’s progress in international cricket has continued with good red-ball sub-continental tours, nearly earning him a Test place playing in the mid-order XI.

Lyon hailed Cameron Green’s most recent IPL campaign and first Test century against India in an interview with cricket.com.au: “His presence in the team has definitely changed after being a part of that IPL and after scoring that hundred in Ahmedabad. He’s growing in confidence and being more of himself, coming out of his shell a little more on the team.”

“I think that just comes from being able to hang in there and play the IPL and be around people like (Mumbai and India Test captain) Rohit Sharma and these guys to learn from them.” Added Nathan Lyon.

Cameron Green is already poised to become an all-around player for Australia at such a young age. Cameron Green helped Australia reach the World Test Championship (WTC) final, scoring 941 runs in 20 Tests at an average of 37.64 and taking 23 wickets.
