“If I had…” – Rishabh Pant reveals what scared him the most after horrific car accident

Speaking to Star Sports, Indian batsman Rishabh Pant stated that the day he suffered the fatal car accident he felt like it could have been the last day of his life. Pant faced a car accident while returning to his house in Uttarakhand and suffered multiple injuries. However, local people helped Pant reach the hospital, after which he underwent several treatments and surgeries. Pant is currently undergoing his rehabilitation period.

Rishabh Pant believed that if there had been any nerve damage, that would have been a point that could have scared him. Pant stated that he took an SUV car but what he saw was a sedan. After Pant met with the accident, he sought help from someone who helped him recover his knee. Pant added that at the time he was aware of his injuries, but added that the condition could have been more serious.

Rishabh Pant said: “If there was any damage to the nerves, there was a possibility of amputation. That’s when I felt afraid. She had taken a van, but what she was looking at was a sedan. There was someone around, so I asked him if he could help me get my leg into his position. She helped the knee back into place. Two people, Rajat Kumar and Nishu Kumar, were able to pull Pant out of his van before it caught fire. It was the first time I had that feeling in my life. “At the time of the accident I was conscious of my injuries, but I was lucky because it could have been even more serious.”

At the time of the accident, Rishabh Pant’s knee had been twisted 180 degrees and was dislocated. Locals named Rajat Kumar and Nishu Kumar helped him put the knee in place.

RISHABH PANTS announced his arrival on the world stage during the U19 team World Cup 2016. Pant was known for his attacking approach and played many match-winning knocks for his team, including the explosive century against Nepal. He also got an IPL contract with Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals) and showed decent performance for them in IPL 2016.

A year after his exploits in the U19 World Cup and IPL, Rishabh Pant has earned a place in the Indian cricket team. However, the first few days were challenging for Pant as he kept coming in and out of the team. However, the year 2018 turned out to be a breakthrough year for Pant.

Rishabh Pant not only smashed careers in the Indian Premier League but also showed immense talent in playing unorthodox shots and also hitting one-handed sixes. Pant did a great job on the tour of England that same year and has since become a regular member of the team.

Rishabh Pant was one of India’s top scorers in 2021 and 2022. Pant played his last international match against Bangladesh in December 2022 and is expected to return in IPL 2024.
