Bangladesh cricket team has received a huge sum of prize money after the team achieved a historic landslide victory over Pakistan recently. The prize money was awarded by the country’s interim government to BCB president Faruque Ahmed and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto.
Just a few days ago, Bangladesh completed a stunning 2-0 series win against Pakistan. The series wins are the only ones they have ever achieved over Pakistan in the history of red-ball cricket, proving the value of this historic occasion.

The team received a total of BDT 3.20 million for their historic achievement. A portion of this prize money will also be donated to flood victims in the country. The fact that this was a victory abroad rather than in their own country makes it even more special.

Bangladesh came to Pakistan with a poor record against the hosts in cricket history but turned it around with their superb all-round performances, be it batting, bowling or fielding.
Perfect comeback in the first test match
In the first Test match, Najmul Hossain Shanto and his team responded brilliantly to Pakistan’s first-innings score of 448-6 on Sunday. Bangladesh scored 565 runs in their first innings thanks to a marathon knock from Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored 191, and brilliant half-centuries from Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
The bowlers then bowled out Pakistan for just 146 to advance in the game. Bowlers Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz produced a brilliant display and shared 7-65 between them. The openers then chased down the 30-run target in no time for their first Test win over Pakistan.
Bangladesh completed a clean sweep
In the second Test, the story was a little different, but the result was the same. Despite a good start by Pakistan, Bangladesh’s bowlers came back strongly to dismiss them and score 274. In reply, Bangladesh scored 262 thanks to a superb century from Litton Das and a crucial half-century from Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Bangladesh bowlers again put up a brilliant display in the second innings to bowl out Pakistan for just 172, needing 185 runs to win the match. The batting line-up put up a collective display to take the team home with 6 wickets in hand.
This has come as a big boost for Bangladesh’s future in Test cricket as they had been struggling in this format for a long time. The team will now play India in a two-match Test series starting on September 19 in Chennai.
