IND vs ENG Today’s Match Prediction: 5th Test, Who Will Win Today’s Test Match? 2024

The fifth and final IND vs ENG Test match begins in Dharamshala on March 7. The match starts at 9.30 am IST. India has already won the series with consecutive victories in the last three Test matches. They are winning 3-1 and aiming for a 4-1 finish.

After England won the first Test in Hyderabad, India made a convincing comeback in the next three Test matches. They won the second Test at Vizag by 106 runs, the third at Rajkot by 434 runs and the fourth at Ranchi while chasing by five wickets.

Ahead of the fifth Test, two cricketers are looking for milestones. Ravichandran Ashwin and Jonny Bairstow are about to play their 100th Test matches. Jasprit Bumrah will return to the Indian XI and England could bring in Gus Atkinson in place of Ollie Robinson, according to reports.

Team analysis

India

As said earlier, Jasprit Bumrah will return to the Indian XI for the fifth and final Test match. He was added to the Indian team for the fifth Test.

The batting line-up is expected to remain the same with Dhruv Jurel as the specialist wicketkeeper. The selection conundrum is whether Rajat Patidar will get another chance after his long, lean pair since his first Test innings in Vizag.

With reports of a change in rank, it will be interesting to see if Inda plays three pacers with Akash Deep in the XI after his brilliant debut. India could publish with its three-spinner formulas

England

England also have selection problems with Ollie Robinson. He bowled 13 overs in the Ranchi Test for 54 runs. He was not used with the ball in the second inning. Former England cricketers want him replaced with Gus Atkinson, who is also part of the England team.

With the bat, Joe Root scored his first century of the series and his tenth overall against India. He looked very different from the rest of the hitters playing his way and for once coming out of the “Bazball” shell. They will be keen to end the series with a win in Dharamshala.

Key factors

Field conditions

Overall, the playing conditions in Dharamsala are completely different from the first three Tests. The weather conditions are much cooler, much to the relief of England, who have endured some heat at the previous four hosts.

Talking about the pitch, the wicket is generally an easy wicket to sew in Dharamshala which helps with pace and swing. However, the camp curator will reportedly prepare the ground after a discussion with the Management of the Indian team..

Reports further say that a rank change is expected to come. The weather in Dhamsala has been very cold for the past few days and it has also been raining continuously.

Form and fitness

There are no fitness or injury concerns for either team with the squad they currently have. Form-wise, Yashasvi Jaiswal has batted brilliantly coming close to 700 runs in the tournament. Root scored a century in Ranchi and seems to have regained his form. Jasprit Bumrah will return to the Indian team after a much-needed break.

Tactical insight

Ben Stokes, despite losing the last three Test matches, has been brilliant with his moves as captain. Former pundits and television commentators have widely praised his captaincy and the way he has supported his young spinners. Rohit Sharma has also earned a lot of praise for the way he has also used his bowlers.
