Fans on Twitter reacted after India defeated Pakistan in match 19 of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. The Rohit Sharma-led team won the match by 6 runs at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Pakistan won the toss and opted to play first. India did not get off to the kind of start they would have liked as both Virat Kohli (4) and Rohit Sharma (13) returned early to the hut at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Axar Patel (20), who rose through the ranks, played a decent role for his team but could not continue. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant (42), on the other hand, played aggressively and finished as the team’s top scorer in the high-pressure game. But he too could not continue and died at a crucial moment.

But after Rishabh Pant got out, things did not go well for India. From having 89 for three, they went all out for 119 in 19 overs. Pakistan’s pacers played sensationally well. Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah picked three wickets each, while Mohammad Amir bagged a scalp.

Chasing Pakistan got off to a decent start to their innings despite captain Babar Azam (13) losing his early wicket. Usman Khan (13) also contributed a vital hand but the real hero for them was Mohammad Rizwan. The wicketkeeper-batsman held on to his team’s lead and made a magnificent innings.

But after he got out, things changed for Pakistan as they lost wickets in quick succession of time. Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya were the men behind the carnage as India pulled off a spectacular comeback.

The duo combined to pick three wickets in the middle and tilt the game in India’s favour. In the end, Arshdeep Singh held his nerve and defended the target to win the match for his team by six runs.
