Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not part of the T20I squad that has been announced for the five-match series against the West Indies. Hardik Pandya will lead a group of young players while the older players rest according to reports.

Kohli and Rohit have not played any T20I cricket for India since the T20 World Cup last year. The duo did not play T20I against Sri Lanka and New Zealand earlier this year. They are part of the test side and will be sitting in the T20I series and young players will be given a chance.

AB De Villiers spoke about the senior duo’s break for the T20I series against the West Indies. He said that this is perhaps the new Indian T20I squadron without the two of them.

“Without Virat Kohli, without Rohit Sharma. I think this is the new Indian T20 team, maybe for the big series against who knows who. Or the World Cup” De Villiers said.
