Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma has issued a warning to Australian women ahead of the third ODI. She said they will do everything possible to break the rival’s winning streak.

Australia Women have had an advantage over India in ODIs. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team has not won a single match against them at home since 2007. The ongoing series was a great opportunity to end the curse, but they lost the matches by a narrow margin.

India lost the first game by a margin of 6 wickets and were on the receiving end of a narrow three-run defeat in the second game. In both the games, Deepti Sharma gave her best but could not take his team beyond the finish line.

Deepti Sharma bowled superbly well in both games, with her best performance coming in the second game, where she took five wickets. The all-rounder was also skilled with the bat in the order, but despite her efforts the team could not win and lost two games in a row.

Deepti Sharma will get another chance to end Australia’s winning streak. The third match between the teams will be played on Tuesday (January 2) and India would be eager to win the game and avoid a whitewash in the series.

Deepti Sharma admitted that they have improved a lot as a team in all departments. She highlighted how they have put up a great fight with Australia, which was not there before. Speaking to reporters, she explained:

“Look, winning and losing is part of the game, but we have improved as a team, whether as a bowling unit or a batting unit. We will try to break their winning streak as soon as possible. There have been many improvements. Before, when we played against Australia, the games were never this close.

“It’s something positive (from the last game) that we can go to the end. We did well as a bowling unit, the spinners and pacers restricted them. At the same time, the batsmen did well, their partnerships in the middle were good.”

IND-W vs AUS-W: I have increased my bowling sessions – Deepti Sharma

Deepti Sharma opened up about her bowling heroics and revealed that she has increased her bowling sessions and is bowling in every phase of the game. She added that all of her concentration is on the last match. She explained:

“I have to talk about my bowling, I have trained a lot. I have increased my bowling sessions and have also bowled in different phases like with the new ball, or in the middle overs, or even how to bowl with the old ball in the death overs.

“Every team plays to win, but some days you can do it and some days you can’t. We put up a good fight, we lasted until the end of the game and now I am concentrating on tomorrow’s game.”

The last match of the series will be played in Mumbai. Next, two teams will face each other in the three-match T20I series.
