Team India will be seeking their first ICC trophy since 2013 when they participate in this year’s T20 World Cup. The long awaited ICC T20 World Cup 2024 It is scheduled to be played in June of this year in the Caribbean and the United States of America.
The 20-team competition is scheduled to be played from June 2 to 29. The 20 teams have been divided into four groups of five teams each. After the group stage, the top two teams in each group will qualify for the Super Eight stage.
The top two teams from each Super Eight group will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled to be played in Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana on Wednesday, June 26 and Thursday, June 27 respectively.
No team has announced their squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 so far and the deadline for this is reportedly May 1. According to a report in Sports Tak, the ICC has set May 1 as the deadline for the squad announcement. However, teams will be able to make changes to their roster until May 25.
Any changes to the squad after May 25 must be approved by the ICC Technical Committee. The report further added that teams will also have the option of playing two warm-up matches depending on their arrival at the World Cup.

Earlier this month, BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed that Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian team in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
“We may have lost the final of the ODI World Cup 2023. But we won hearts and won 10 matches in a row. “I am confident that India will lift the 2024 T20 World Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma in Barbados.” Jay Shah said during the inauguration of the Niranjan Shah stadium.

Team India is placed in Group A along with Pakistan, Ireland, Canada and co-hosts USA. The Men in Blue will open their campaign against Ireland on June 5 before taking on arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9. Matches against the United States and Canada will follow on June 12 and 15 respectively.
