The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 hosted RCB vs PBKS on Monday (March 25). The match between the two teams took place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and saw a magnificent effort from both the teams.
Punjab Kings were asked to bat first and had a poor start to the innings. Jonny Bairstow’s poor run against Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued as he committed another flop and returned to the hut for 8 runs off 6 balls.
After that captain, Shikhar Dhawan (45) and Prabhsimran Singh (25) counter-attacked the opposition bowlers and added 55 runs for the second wicket. But Prabhsimran’s wicket saw Punjab under pressure and losing wickets at regular intervals.
Liam Livingstone (17) and Sam Curran (23) died after making decent contributions. But after that, Jitesh Sharma (27) and Shashank Singh (21*) made a brutal cameo that changed the momentum in favor of Punjab. His innings propelled Punjab Kings to a total of 176/6.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru kept losing wickets at regular intervals and came under pressure. But Virat Kohli with his knock of 77 runs kept his team in the hunt. He played some incredible shots in his innings, but after coming out, the home team was under a lot of pressure.
Dinesh Karthik (28*) and Mahipal Lomror (17*) put up a magnificent effort at the end and got the crowd going. The wicketkeeper-batsman finished the game for his team as Royal Challengers Bengaluru registered their first win of the season by 4 wickets.

Rajasthan Royals retained the top spot in the points table after the RCB vs PBKS match. Chennai Super Kings occupied the second position along with Gujarat Titans in third. Kolkata Knight Riders are fourth. After the win, RCB moved up to sixth place, while Punjab Kings fell to fifth place. The rest of the teams have not yet registered to win.
