TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, match number 29, was between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). It was the second game of Sunday’s doubleheader. The match was played at PCA Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium, New Chandigarh. The match was exciting as PBKS beat LSG by 54 runs. Secure the top of the table and remain undefeated in the tournament.
PBKS came into this match with a dominant win over Mumbai Indians (MI); On the other hand, LSG were outclassed by defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). LSG captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to play first. They made two changes, with M Siddharth and Mohsin Khan coming in.

LSG got off to the best start with Mohammed Shami, dismissing insider Prabhsimran Singh for the first ball the batsman faced in the innings. However, after that, Prabh’s initial partner Priyansh Arya was off to a good start alongside Cooper Connolly. Priyansh was the aggressor between the two and scored a fifty off 19 balls. The latter also scored his fifty in 35 balls.
Priyansh and Connolly put together a 182-run partnership for the second wicket, as they were making a killing on the LSG bowlers. The latter was dismissed for 87 runs. Priyansh followed up in the next over, scoring 93 runs, as both batsmen put the Punjab side in the driving seat.
Next, Shreyas Iyer was able to make a much bigger impact and scored five runs. The Kings lost 3 wickets in just 8 runs, while the Super Giants made a small comeback; however, Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh were excellent on the business side, scoring 254/7. Stoinis scored 29 off 16 balls.
Going out in chase, LSG got off to a good start with Mitchell Marsh and Ayush Badoni scoring 61/1 in the powerplay as the latter returned to the pavilion after scoring 35 runs. Marsh and Rishabh Pant later formed a partnership; However, the former returned after scoring 40 in 28 balls. Pant was dismissed for 43 runs.
Aiden Markram and Mukul Choudhary tried to score as many runs as possible to keep the net run rate in the game low. But they failed to reach the grand total and could only score 200/5 in their 20 overs.
