India pacer Arshdeep Singh has been on top of all the South African batsmen in the ongoing first ODI against the Proteas. The first match of the series between the teams will take place at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. South Africa’s decision to bat first has proven wrong on the part of the Indian pacers, particularly Arshdeep Singh. The left-arm pacer has wreaked havoc on the Proteas batting line-up with his impeccable lines and lengths and made sure to take the team off the shuttlecock.

Arshdeep Singh looked nothing short of exceptional in the ongoing game as he bowled brilliantly in the match. The fast bowler extracted swing from the surface and made sure to use his power to the fullest and troubled the Proteas batsman. The fast bowler found the outside edge of the batsmen and also broke the stumps.

While Arshdeep Singh was destroying the stumps of the South African batsmen, his IPL franchise Punjab Kings took an opportunity to troll the Mumbai Indians. They reminded the five-time champions how the pacer broke their stumps during the last edition of the league.

Punjab Kings posted a photo of the broken stumps of the Mumbai Indians batsmen in that game and compared it with the broken stumps of the South Africa batsmen from today’s game. They posted photos with the caption: “Everything reminds us of this.”

Notably, Arshdeep Singh produced one of the best last overs in the history of the league. His team needed to defend 15 runs in the last over and he held firm. The fast bowler bowled superbly well and removed the dangerous Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera by breaking their stumps to win the match for his team.

Here is the video of Arshdeep Singh’s wicket from the match against Mumbai Indians in IPL:

Coming into the ongoing game against South Africa, Arshdeep Singh has been the pick of his team’s bowlers as he took his first five-wicket haul. The fast bowler was excluded from the ODI setup ahead of the 2023 World Cup. However, his performance in the ongoing game could have sent a statement to the selectors. The Punjab pacer also wrote history when became the first Indian pacer to take five wickets against South Africa in South Africa in the 50-over format.

IND vs SA: India edge South Africa by just 116 runs; Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan shine with the ball

India had an amazing outing with the ball in the match against South Africa. They used the bowling conditions to great advantage as they did not let the Proteas batsman settle down at all. Arshdeep Singh was the shining light of the team. But apart from him, Avesh Khan was the other hero of the team as he supported the left-arm pacer incredibly well.

Avesh Khan picked four wickets while Kuldeep Yadav bagged a scalp as India beat South Africa by 116 runs. Andile Phehlukwayo was his team’s top scorer with 33 runs. Tony de Zorzi also scored 28 runs. India would be optimistic about chasing the target and taking a 1-0 lead in the series.
