Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have a lot of work to do in their bowling attack in the upcoming IPL 2024 auction in Dubai. Almost like every year, this year too they will head to another auction to rework their bowling attack.
Wanindu Hasaranga, Josh Hazlewood and Harshal Patel were key names who were released by RCB. Mohammad Siraj was the only recognized Indian pacer to be retained by the franchise.
RCB traded Cameron Green to Mumbai Indians in a lucrative Rs 17.5 crore deal. While previewing the auction on Star Sports, Pathan termed Green as a crucial acquisition for RCB and suggested Mujeeb as an alternative to Hasaranga.

“If you look at their team, with the arrival of Cameron Green, they have solved their biggest headache. The mess in the middle is solved. They will have to order their bowling. If they can get Hasaranga back at a cheaper price, great.”
“If not, they can go for guys like Mujeeb. Mujeeb is a guy who can really take the tone out of the equation. He is basically a mystery bowler who can play with the new ball and can be quite useful in those kind of difficult conditions for the bowlers,” Irfan said on Star Sports.
You might see Mitchell Starc playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore: Irfan Pathan
He further said that the franchise might be interested in signing Mitchell Starc as he played for the franchise in the past. Starc last played in IPL 2014 for RCB.
“I really think you might see Mitchell Starc playing for RCB because he was there before. They would also want him there because being a left-arm spinner, bowling at 140+, having that extra pace on those types of pitches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium will be of utmost importance for RCB.”
RCB has a remaining purse of Rs 23.25 crore and can buy a maximum of six players, which includes three overseas vacancies. Faf du Plessis will lead the team with Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidat, Dinesh Karthik, Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green among the team’s top six.
