Jitesh Sharma has appeared in multiple podcasts and interviews in the recent past. Some of his comments did not go down well with cricket fans, leading to a strong backlash against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star. One of the controversial moments came when Sharma called Rajasthan Royals’ 15-year-old batsman Vaibhav Sooryavanshi “unprofessional”.
Everyone knows that despite the age difference, the 32-year-old RCB star shares a close relationship with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. At multiple times, both were seen in funny altercations on the field.
KEY POINTS
Jitesh Sharma clarified his ‘unprofessional’ comment. This comment was misinterpreted by fans. He revealed a close bond with 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
Sharma made a controversial comment about Sooryavanshi’s love for ice cream. Like every teenager, the Rajasthan Royals opener also loves ice cream, cartoons and many fun things in his free time. In a recent video, Sharma clarified that it is normal for every 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to order ice cream, and that is quite natural.
The RCB keeper-batsman also claimed that the young batsman often comes to his house, talks to his wife and watches videos on YouTube.
“He is a 15-year-old boy who loves ice cream. He comes to my room and eats it with me; I don’t eat it, but he does. If a boy doesn’t want ice cream, what else could he have? He visits our house, talks to my wife and watches videos on YouTube. We are very close, he is like my younger brother,” Jitesh Sharma said in a video recently released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
“He is a very good friend of mine. We are very close and I can call him whatever I want,” Sharmma also stated.
Jitesh reveals his personal bond with Vaibhav
Jitesh Sharma doesn’t care what people say or how they interpret his comments. Since Vaibhav is only 15 years old, Jitesh encourages him to watch television and eat his favorite foods.
“I don’t care what people say. A lot of professionalism is expected of him because he has to perform at this level, but he is still only 15. Let a boy be a boy. When he is with me, he can be himself because I don’t judge him. I tell him, ‘You are only fifteen. Watch TV, eat whatever you want and focus only on your batting’. He is happy that way,” Jitesh Sharma told Mr. Nags later in the video.
