Jonathan Trott wants his own coaching staff elections in the next term

Jonathan Trott will sign another team as Afghanistan coach, but on one condition. During a conversation with the PA news agency, Jonathan Trott said that he is making sure he has his own options for support staff and coaching.

“I’m sure I’ll sign it, but it’s to make sure I get what’s right for the team. It’s the offer I want, but now it’s about making sure the coaching support and the coaching staff are what I want.”

“There have been some changes in the coaching staff, but it’s about making sure we have the right coaches to move the team forward, taking a step forward, not a step back,” he said.

I’m trying to put things right: Jonathan Trott

Jonathan Trott also noted that he wants Afghanistan to win as many games as possible so he can set the tone for the next coach in the future.

“I’m trying to put things in their place. I try to make sure that when I leave something I leave it better than I found it. “We are making sure we can win as many games as we can, not for ourselves but to make sure we set the standard for the next coach or the next Afghan team.”

“It’s what I try to do and always will do as a coach. So that’s my focus and also having coaches or a mentality where you’re constantly pushing each other to get better,” Trott said.

The signing of Jonathan Trott as Afghanistan head coach means he will guide the team during the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. The ICC tournament will be played in the West Indies and the United States in June next year.
