Veteran West Indies all-rounder Kieron Pollard achieved a rare milestone during the recent match between the Southern Brave and the Trent Rockets in the 2024 Men’s Hundred Competition. Kieron Pollard became the first cricketer to achieve this milestone in both the T20 and 100-ball formats of the game.

Kieron Pollard played a crucial role in helping the Southern Brave to victory in a closely contested encounter at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on Saturday, August 10. Pollard scored 45 runs off 23 balls, including two boundaries and five sixes. He was named ‘Hero of the Match’ for his heroics with the bat.

The Southern Brave were struggling at 78/6 off 76 deliveries in the 127-run chase against the Trent Rockets. They needed 49 runs off the last 20 deliveries to secure the win. Kieron Pollard turned the momentum in his team’s favour by hitting five consecutive sixes in Rashid Khan’s over. The former West Indies captain hit the 81st ball for a six over mid-wicket, followed by another six over long-on. He then hit three sixes to take the equation to the 19 runs needed in 15 balls.

The 37-year-old batsman created history by becoming the first batsman to hit six consecutive sixes in both T20 and Hundred formats. He hit six consecutive sixes in a T20I match against Sri Lankan pacer Akila Dananjaya in 2021.

Pollard was dismissed with the team needing 9 runs off 10 balls in the match. He was dismissed after attempting an unnecessary single. He defended a ball in front of cover and substitute fielder Calvin Harrison hit the stumps straight through. The team chased down the target with a ball to spare when Chris Jordan hit a four.
