A Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batsman scored a fine half-century in the Iran Cup match in Lucknow between Mumbai and Rest of India (ROI). The player hit his shot well and seemed quite comfortable in the box.
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer scored 57 runs off 84 deliveries, including six boundaries and two maximums. He played a prudent knock with the willow and stopped the collapse to help Mumbai revive in the first innings.
When he reached the box, Mumbai were reeling at 37/3 in the 12th over and desperately needed a partnership. Shreyas, batting at No. 5, did just that and got excellent position with Ajinkya Rahane to get Mumbai back on track.

He finally got out when Yash Dayal dismissed him while playing a loose shot; Iyer was probably expecting a short delivery and was surprised when the player hit a half-volley. But it was a timely strike from Iyer; He should have had a great success but had to retire in the 40th minute after providing some stability to the innings.
Mumbai ends the day on 237/4 after batting first
After winning the toss, the rest of India opted to play first and started brightly. Their pacers, especially Mukesh Kumar, bowled to plan and severely exploited the conditions on offer to dismiss Mumbai’s top-flight on the cheap.
Mukesh removed Prithvi Shaw (4) and Hardik Tamore (0) in the same over early on to put pressure on Mumbai. Both batsmen played loose deliveries, something that was dangerous when the ball was new, taking the ball away from their bodies and losing their wickets to put their team under immense pressure.
Later, Ayush Mhatre, who tried to make an effort at the crease and played a few balls while opening, also departed with a score of 19. Rahane and Iyer then put together a vital 102-run partnership and brought some relief to the camp.
As Iyer left, Sarfaraz Khan later joined Rahane and the two advanced the innings. Currently, Rahane and Sarfaraz are unbeaten on 86 and 54 respectively, and Mumbai ended the day on 237/4.
