The 28th match of the ongoing TATA Indian Premier League 2026 (TATA IPL 2026) will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Sunday, April 19. This clash between KKR and RR will take place at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, starting at 3:30 pm IST.

This is the encounter of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the ongoing IPL 2026. However, both the teams have different journeys so far this season, with RR winning four consecutive games while KKR are yet to open their account despite playing six matches.

Currently, KKR is at the bottom of the IPL 2026 points table with just one point they got from an unsuccessful game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Kolkata. On the other hand, RR are third in the table with eight points from five games and a positive net run rate.

But his early batting collapse and inconsistent bowling allowed GT to easily chase the target of 181 runs. KKR must hope Green maintains his form in this match against RR in Kolkata. Rovman Powell, Tim Seifert and Angkrish Raghuvanshi will also hope to contribute heavily, while Varun Chakravarthy aims to trouble the RR batsmen after showing glimpses of his form against GT.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals come into this IPL 2026 clash after their crushing 57-run loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). In that match, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was dismissed for a duck and now he aims to make up for it against KKR.

Ravindra Jadeja and Donovan Ferreira would love to continue their batting brilliance, while Jofra Archer, Ravi Bishnoi and Sandeep Sharma continue to hold the RR key against KKR.

Kolkata Knight Riders have a slight edge over Rajasthan Royals in head-to-head records. KKR won 16 of 32 games, while RR won 14, with two games ending in no result. In their previous match, KKR defeated RR by 8 wickets in Guwahati.

Eden Gardens has a flat pitch which is good for batting. However, the pitch starts to help the spinners as the game progresses, with the score taking precedence over anything. 180 is sure to win the game at this place.
