Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra has expressed concern over Ravindra Jadeja’s performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. He said that the all-rounder has not been at his best in the tournament and is also unable to take wickets.
Ravindra Jadeja has been the weak link of the Indian team in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. Considered the MVP of the team, the all-rounder has not lived up to expectations with the bat and the ball and has not contributed as much as was expected of him in the tournament.
Ravindra Jadeja has not scored runs with the bat in the order and is not even at his best with the ball. The all-rounder has picked only one wicket with the ball in the tournament and in the last match against Bangladesh he went wicketless, where the fielding helped the spinners.
On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav took advantage of most of the ball conditions. He bowled 4 overs in the game and tipped the game in favor of his team. The leg-spinner picked 3 wickets and returned with the figures of 3/19. Based on the effort with the ball, India won the game by 50 runs.
Aakash Chopra believes that Kuldeep Yadav is Rohit Sharma’s favorite bowler as he takes wickets for the team at crucial times. He also stated that he was worried about Ravindra Jadeja’s performance and pointed out that the all-rounder bowls too fast and too short. In a video posted on his YouTube channel, he explained:
“Let’s talk about Kuldeep Yadav. He is Rohit Sharma’s favorite bowler. He always wants to keep him in his team. Since the ball has started coming out of his hand a little faster, he turns left or right after bowling , and he is picking up wickets. He remains economical and also takes wickets.
“He doesn’t bowl loose balls. He is India’s trump card. I am a little worried about Ravindra Jadeja’s performance. I will be very honest because we haven’t seen Ravindra Jadeja’s main avatar even once in this entire tournament. He too he’s bowling fast and too short, so he can’t pick up wickets.”

Aakash Chopra also spoke about the bowling performances of other players and stated that although India have not officially qualified for the semi-finals, they are almost there. He elaborated:
“Axar Patel didn’t bowl that well in this match either, but then there were the fast bowlers. Bumrah gave six runs in two overs early on and also missed a catch. If Rishabh Pant had taken that catch, he would have taken it. “I got another wicket. . “Bumrah had two wickets, Arshdeep had two wickets, Hardik had one and Kuldeep had three, and that’s it, India won this game.”
