LSG issues official medical bulletin on Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan ahead of RCB clash

The TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has been exciting as the tournament has entered the fifth week and the teams have performed well in the tournament. Ahead of Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) next match against reigning champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), there has been good news from the camp.

According to reports from Cricbuzz, LSG’s pace duo Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan have been declared fit by their Global Director of Cricket Tom Moody and both are available for the upcoming match against RCB. The left-arm pacer played the first game and bowled brilliantly against the Delhi Capitals. Mohsin Khan was absent from the Super Giants’ next matches after suffering a problem.

Mohsin Khan returns to LSG

However, Mayank Yadav did not play a single game, he was present in the list of impact players but did not feature. Mayank has been one of India’s most promising young fast bowlers. Although he has been out due to multiple injuries.

Earlier, it was reported that Mohsin Khan had developed ‘stiffness’ in his leg after the DC game. However, Moody said the problem is not serious and the left arm will return quickly. Mohsin Khan has a long history of injuries that have hampered him before. The 27-year-old missed the entire last season of IPL 2025 after being ruled out with a calf injury.

Is Mayank Yadav ready to play against RCB?

Mohsin Khan has played 25 IPL matches, taking 28 wickets with a best bowling performance of 4/16. Mayank Yadav was deemed fit but the franchise has been taking precautions to regulate his workload and avoid getting injured again. After learning from a previous long-term back injury, the team is cautious, but he has emerged as an impact substitute, signaling a return.

Mayank Yadav has played 6 matches in two seasons due to his prolonged injury problems. The young pacer was in form on several occasions but was injured after bowling hard during a tournament. This time, LSG wants to be 100% sure before giving it the green light.

He has worked exceptionally hard: Tom Moody on Mayank Yadav’s fitness

Moody gave a positive update on young pace sensation Mayank Yadav: “He has worked exceptionally hard and is now ready to go,” said Moody, stating that Yadav’s availability also creates a “selection headache” given the balance of LSG’s bowling attack. “Our bowling has been pretty solid so far. We just haven’t produced the runs to back it up,” he said.

Moody highlighted the growing number of more than 200 totals and successful chases, especially in specific stadiums. He mentioned that the upcoming venue has historically favored teams that bat second, making pitching and game awareness crucial.

“In those places, you don’t want to mentally chase massive totals from the start if you’re batting first. It’s important to build your innings in phases and then accelerate when the time is right,” he said.
