Fans on Twitter reacted after the third umpire made a strange wide call following MS Dhoni’s review in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings ( CSK). The 33rd match between the teams will be held at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
The officiating in the match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has come under scrutiny. He attracted quite a bit of attention during the time when the former captain of the five-time champions was batting in the final overs of the game.
In the 19th over of Chennai Super Kings, Mohsin Khan bowled a delivery that was around the wide boundary. The on-field umpire did not give him a wide berth but after a few seconds, MS Dhoni opted for review at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
The third referee looked at it and immediately threw it wide when the ball was on the line. MS Dhoni had a middle stump and from the looks of it, it didn’t look open and the on-field umpire also gave the benefit of the doubt to the bowler. However, the third referee overturned the decision.
With the decision wide, Moshin Khan surely lost his stride as MS Dhoni went berserk and launched an attack on him. The keeper-batsman played a magnificent innings and after that decision, he hit the fast bowler for a four and a six to go wild at the Ekana Stadium.
MS Dhoni finished with an innings of 28 runs off just 9 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 311 and also hit 3 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. His brutal display with the bat at the end propelled Chennai Super Kings to a total of 176 runs on the board.

Actually the umpires favor CSK, they were influenced by Dhoni. It was clearly not a deflected ball from Mohsin Khan, but because Dhoni did that review, they simply declared it to be a deflected ball.
