Fans on Twitter reacted after Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) continued their dominance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. They beat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 98 runs at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday (May 5 ).

Kolkata Knight Riders got off to a brutal start with the bat in Lucknow. Phil Salt (32) and Sunil Narine (81) wreaked havoc on the host bowlers. They came out all guns blazing and put the opposition under immense pressure with their opening stand of 61 runs.

After that, Angkrish Raghuvanshi (32) supported Narine well and they added 79 runs in partnership for the second wicket. His partnership set the tone for Kolkata Knight Riders to post a huge total at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium.

Rinku Singh (16), Shreyas Iyer (23) and Ramandeep Singh (25) played a vital hand as the visitors posted a mammoth total of 235 runs on the board. For Lucknow Super Giants, Naveen-ul-Haq picked three wickets.

In the chase, Lucknow Super Giants lost Arshin Kulkarni (6) early and after that captain, KL Rahul (25) and Marcus Stoinis (36) brought them back into the game and put pressure on the Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers.

The Rahul-Stoinis duo added 50 runs and looked like they were ready to fight. But after that, Kolkata Knight’s bowlers pounced on the batsmen and kept contributing wickets at regular intervals, taking command of the game.

Kolkata Knight Riders outscored the opponents by 137 to win the game by 98 runs and go on top of the table with 16 points to their name. Varun Chakravarthy and Harshit Rana picked three wickets each and Andre Russell bagged two scalps.
