Mohammad Hafeez gives first response after being fired as manager of Pakistan cricket team
I always prioritized and represented Pakistan with dignity and pride. I accepted the new role as PCB Director with great passion to bring positive reforms, but unfortunately my appointed tenure, which was offered by @TheRealPCB for 4 years, was interrupted for 2 months in the account…

Apart from the removal of Mohammad Hafeez as manager of the Pakistan cricket team, the PCB also terminated the contract of Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf. Rauf did not take part in the Test series against Australia, preferring to play in the Big Bash League for the Melbourne Stars.
In the last three years, the Pakistan Cricket Board has had three presidents. After the resignation of Zaka Ashraf as president of the Pakistan Cricket Board, the interim chief minister of Punjab province, Mohsin Naqvi, was appointed as the new PCB chief in the first week of February.
Pakistan’s performance in international cricket has only declined due to instability on the board. The Pakistani team suffered defeats in the home test series at the hands of Australia and England along with elimination from the 2023 ODI World Cup. Pakistan lost the privilege of hosting the Asia Cup at that time and it was subsequently held in a hybrid format .
Apart from losing the three-match Test series to Australia in a humiliating defeat, the Pakistan cricket team also suffered a 4-1 defeat in the Twenty20 International series against New Zealand.
The Pakistani team has only been able to win matches against low-ranked teams, including Zimbabwe, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Furthermore, pace, which was known to be the Pakistani team’s strong point, has only decreased in the last 2 years. Pace bowling has proven to be a weakness of the team and senior players like Shaheen Shah Afridi have also performed average with the ball.
Babar Azam also resigned as team captain after Pakistan’s debacle in the 2023 ODI World Cup. Soon after his early exit from the tournament, Pakistan’s entire support staff was sacked.
