Moin Khan hits out at PCB over lack of proper system in Pakistan cricket

Moin Khan clearly stated that there is no planning in Pakistan cricket which has led to its downfall. He stated that the current cricket system in Pakistan is flawed which is why the national team is going through such a tough time.

“There was no visible planning in the cricket team. There is a system where players come and go. When the system fails, problems arise,” Moin Khan said.

Pakistan cricket is going through one of its worst times at the moment. The national team was eliminated from the 2024 T20 World Cup in the group stage after suffering defeats at the hands of the United States and India. They managed to win their next two matches against Canada and Ireland but that was not enough to qualify for the Super 8 stage.

The loss to the USA in the Super Over was especially shocking for the Men in Green as they are vastly experienced compared to the USA and were expected to win the match easily. The loss to a lower-ranked team affected their confidence levels, which was evident in their next match against India.

In the next match, Pakistan suffered another narrow defeat against their arch-rivals India. They had the match under their control but in the end they lost and lost the match.

Pakistan’s shock defeat sparked widespread criticism against the team from various quarters in the country. The players were heavily criticised by the country’s former cricketers and pundits, who even called for a complete revamp of the team.

Pakistan’s captain in the white-ball series, Babar Azam, is also under a lot of pressure. His captaincy is under threat and his batting has also been criticised of late. With Pakistan set to play their next white-ball series in November, it will be interesting to see whether Babar Azam retains his place as the captain of the team or not.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi called for a “surgery” in the team following the poor performances. As a result, the PCB sacked selectors Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq from their duties in the PCB.

It is evident that Pakistan’s current system is not producing the great cricketers it once used to produce. Although there are some talented players in the country, the lack of a proper system has hampered the growth of cricket in the country.
