Dhoni featured in the first two matches of the season for the Chennai Super Kings, where his batting prowess was not required. However, in the recent match in Vizag, CSK’s top-flight failure necessitated the former CSK captain’s presence in the middle.

The batsman arrived at the crease with the team in a challenging situation at 120/6 in 16.1 overs. Dhoni hit a boundary off his first ball and survived a catch from Khaleel Ahmed off his second ball. He scored 20 runs in the last over bowled by Anrich Nortje.

Rishabh pant crushes brilliant half-century

Rishabh Pant showed his old form for the first time since returning from injury in the IPL 2024 match. He played brilliant innings with remarkable strokeplay, scoring 51 runs off 32 balls and contributing to the Capitals’ imposing total of 191/5 in 20 overs.

Following a devastating car accident in December 2022, the 26-year-old returned to competitive cricket in IPL 2024. The left-hander faced challenges in accelerating the scoring rate, recording scores of 18 (13) and 28 (26) in DC. first two games.

I have to give my 100 percent – Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant praised the team’s bowlers for their clinical performance and highlighted the improvement over previous matches. Pant expressed his commitment to giving his best on the field, reflecting on his journey back to cricket after a major break.

“The bowlers have been clinical today. We have learned from our mistakes. He’s been working hard since the last two weeks (Shaw). We thought it was time to give it a try and it flourished. He will depend on match to match, but if Mukesh can play at the death, he will be great. As a cricketer, I have to give my 100 per cent. It took me some time at first as I haven’t played much cricket in the last one and a half years. This is something I have depended my life on. I always had the confidence that, no matter what happens, it is important to return to the land.” Pant said.
