Afghanistan’s top-order batsman Noorali Zadran ended his international career on Thursday (March 7). He took the decision before the ongoing first ODI against Ireland. The match between the teams will take place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Noor Ali Zadran last played for Afghanistan in the recently concluded one-off match against Ireland. The batsman did not have a great performance in the first innings of the game as he scored 7 runs off 27 balls, but he played a good knock in the second innings of the game.
Noor Ali Zadran scored 32 off 72 balls and also hit three boundaries in his innings. His efforts went in vain as Afghanistan lost the game by a margin of 6 wickets. The first team didn’t have a fairytale ending to his career, but they would be proud of his contributions to the team.
Noor Ali Zadran made his Test debut for Afghanistan in the one-off Test against Sri Lanka. His nephew Ibhrahim Zadran presented him with a debut cap and the duo even opened the innings for the team in the recently concluded test match against Ireland.
Noor Ali Zadran has been an incredible servant to the Afghanistan cricket team in white-ball cricket. He played 51 ODIs for the team and scored 1216 runs to his name at an average of around 25. The top-order batsman scored one century and seven half-centuries in his career.
Noor Ali Zadran also represented Afghanistan in all 22 T20Is. He scored 586 runs under his name with a strike rate of over 100 and an average of over 26. His absence will leave a huge void in the Afghanistan white-ball team as his experience would be irreplaceable. .
Noor Ali Zadran also played 2 test matches for Afghanistan. He managed 117 runs with an average of around 30 and a best of 47. He ended his career at the age of 35. He was part of some of the Afghanistan team’s famous victories. He would be happy with his career and the way things turned out.
Noor Ali was part of the team when Afghanistan played its first match in April 2009, against Scotland in Benoni. He opened the team’s batting in hand and scored 45 runs. One of the highlights of his career was his half-century against India in the T20 World Cup in 2010.

Afghanistan Cricket Board revealed about the development related to Noor Ali Zadran. They said Batter decided to end his career and shared a heartfelt post about his retirement.
They share a picture in which Noor Ali Zadran can be seen receiving a guard of honor from the Afghanistan cricket team players before the first ODI against Ireland at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. They declared:
