Durban Super Giants (DSG) batsman Heinrich Klaasen once again showed his class in the shortest format of the game. He played blindfold in the 2024 SA20 Qualifier against Johannesburg Super Kings and helped his team reach a dominant position.

Heinrich Klaasen exuded class and changed the course of the game in a short time. He came into bat as the Durban Super Giants (DSG) lost three wickets and then faltered at 95/4. It was then that he changed the tone of the game with his sensational innings.

Heinrich Klaasen hit the Johannesburg Super Kings bowlers all over the park and played some sensational shots in his innings. He made no mistake in his innings and made sure to take his team to the big total in the big game.

Heinrich Klaasen finished with 74 30-ball innings and batted with a strike rate of over 246. The wicketkeeper-batsman hit 3 fours and 7 sixes in his innings and helped his team register a massive total of 211 runs on the board in 20 more.

Klaasen is the BOSS – Kevin Pietersen

Heinrich Klaasen’s magnificent innings left Kevin Pietersen in awe. The former England cricketer was called the chief wicketkeeper-batsman of T20 cricket and hailed him as the best in the world. On his Twitter account, he explained:

“There is no better T20 cricket batsman in the world! Klaasen is the BOSS!

Heinrich Klaasen talked about his innings and said that he had to be patient with them. He said he believed in himself and knew that once he threw some strikes, he would be in. The batsman also spoke about his battle with Imran Tahir. He elaborated:

“The nerves are fine. The wicket was tough. They played very well and I had to be very, very patient. I thought I had picked the right bowler (Tahir) to get the innings started again. I knew there were one or two strikes missing and my strike rate would improve and that came from experience.

“I knew Tahir was going to bowl fuller. If you cast the right length, there’s something about it. Hopefully this will be enough tonight. The reception (from the crowd) has been poor throughout the tournament. “I’m so happy someone took it tonight.”

In addition to Heinrich Klaasen, Wiaan Mulder was the main hero of the Durban Supergiants. After the keeper-batsman got out, the all-rounder took the fort and ensured that his team cashed in on the start they had and ended up with a big total on board.

Wiaan Mulder played a blistering innings with the bat and scored a brutal half-century. He smashed 50 runs in just 23 balls which kept the momentum in favor of DSG in the final overs. He batted with a strike rate of over 217 and also hit 3 fours and 3 sixes in his innings.
