The fourth T20I between PAK and NZ will be played in Christchurch on Friday, January 19. The match starts at 11:40 am IST and Pakistan are looking to save face and avoid a clean sweep. They lost the first three games to concede the series to New Zealand.
Pakistan have not won a T20I series since playing the T20 World Cup final in 2022. They lost the series to Australia, England and even Afghanistan. They have now conceded another T20I series under Shaheen Afridi, their new T20I skipper.
Pakistan were impressed in the PAKvs NZ third T20I by Finn Allen’s solo assault. Allen hit 16 sixes and five fours in his innings, equaling the world record set by Afghan batsman Hazratullah Zazai against Ireland in 2019.
The Black Caps posted a formidable total of 224/7 in 20 overs in Dunedin on Wednesday, January 17. Finn Allen scored 137 runs off 62 deliveries, including five boundaries and 16 sixes. In response, the New Zealand bowlers restricted the opposition to a score of 179/7.

None of Pakistan’s bowlers have played well in the series, especially their captain. In the three matches he has conceded 119 runs at an average of 29.75. Hairs Raug has conceded 134 runs at an average of 18.86. Thus, Pakistan’s two most experienced T20I bowlers have been brought into the cleanup.
He men in green They will have to rotate their players in search of a crucial victory. Mohammad Nawaz, who did not play in the first two games, scored 44 runs in his spell and picked up one wicket. Shadad Khan’s absence is proving costly as the Men in Green lack good spin options.
New Zealand will be without Kane Williamson, who was ruled out of the last three games due to a hamstring injury. Mitchell Santner led in his absence in the third T20I and will also lead the last two games. Lockie Ferguson returned in the third T20I and took 1/27.
Will Young, who was with the team for the first two games, will also remain with the team for the final three games. Tim Seifert has taken over groundskeeping duties from Devon Conway and will replace Williamson in the side. Ferguson returned with good numbers as Tim Southee continued to show his experience on the ball as everything fell into place for the Kiwis.
