The Pakistan national cricket team has announced the playing XI for the second test against the England national cricket team. The match between the two teams will be played from October 15 (Tuesday) at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan.

Saim Ayub, who failed to get going in the first Test, has retained his place in the team as an opener along with Abdullah Shafique. The right-hander scored a superb century in the first innings of the last game and would be eager to continue his good form.

Captain Shan Masood will be at No. 3. The left-hander looked glorious in touch and played a magnificent innings of 151 runs in the first Test. He would be eager to fulfill as captain of the team and would want to record his first victory as captain.

Kamran Ghulam replaces Babar Azam in Pakistan XI

At number 4, Kamran Ghulam will make his debut for the team. The young man will play in place of Babar Azam, who was absent from the team in the last two games. Babar also did not perform well as he managed only 35 runs in two innings of the game.

Vice-captain Saud Shakeel will continue to bat at number 5. He has been one of Pakistan’s consistent batsmen in Test cricket. He played a vital 82 innings and would be eager to continue his golden touch with the bat and help the team win.

Mohammad Rizwan also retained his place in the team as a wicketkeeper-batsman. He had a horrible game with the bat in the first Test. With his teammates in Babar Azam and the pacers falling, the pressure would also be on him to score runs and make an impact for the team.

Salman Ali Agha, who scored a fantastic century in the first game, is the team’s all-rounder along with Aamer Jamal, who was decent with bat and ball in the first Test. In place of Abrar Ahmed, Noman Ali has made a cut in the team. While Sajid Khan and Zahid Mahmood are the last two names in the XI.

The hosts would be eager to return in the second Test. They have made massive changes to their team. Not only Babar Azam but also Sarfaraz Ahmed, Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi were also dropped from the team. They would be waiting for the young team to lead them to glory.

They were at the end of the innings and scored 47 runs in the first game. The Shan Masood-led team would be desperate to win as a loss here would mean another series defeat for them at home.
