PAKISTAN FORM: WINLESS RUN EXTENDED IN PAINFUL STYLE
Pakistan long drought at home continues and their most recent defeat was arguably their worst yet. It’s now 11 home games without a win after Shan Masood’s side racked up 556 batting first in the first Test, only to concede 823 in response before being bowled out for just 220 as their second innings woes continued. The hosts have responded by dropping arguably their best batter in Babar Azam, who is currently struggling through a terrible run of form.

ENGLAND FORM: BACK TO WINNING WAYS IN STYLE
Records were broken left right and centre for England in the first Test as they made it three Test wins in a row under head coach Brendon McCullum when they have conceded 500 runs or more in an innings. Joe Root became England’s all-time highest Test runscorer and the fifth highest of all-time. His partnership of 454 runs with Harry Brook was the highest ever recorded in English Test cricket, whilst Brook became the first England batter since Graham Gooch in 1990 to score a triple century. Most importantly though, England won the Test match and did so by an innings.

PAKISTAN BETTING ANALYSIS
When taking into account how flat the pitch was for the first Test, it would be no surprise to see a similar story here, especially early in the game with the pitch being the same as that one used last time out. Opening the batting, Abdullah Shafique scored 102 in Pakistan’s first innings and should gain from playing in the best of conditions, especially if his captain wins the toss. Therefore, he is worth backing to record over 64.5 match runs in the second Test.
ENGLAND BETTING ANALYSIS
You could make a case for investment in both Joe Root and Harry Brook as both will be expected to fill their boots once again in Multan. Brook now averages an incredible 130.83 in Pakistan, which includes 785 runs in just six innings. Root continues to show why he is arguably the best non-Indian batter in the world in subcontinental conditions. Bettors would be smart to cover both batters, with stakes on the pair to each score a hundred in the match.
PAKISTAN VS ENGLAND EXPERT PREDICTION
It simply can’t get worse for Pakistan right now both on and off the pitch. A toxic mass of negativity and zero confidence within the side has led to the position they find themselves in currently. England grinded them into the dirt before blasting them all out and it’s so hard to see things changing for Pakistan in this second Test.
Even if this pitch proves to be another road, England have the tools needed both in terms of natural ability and mental toughness to take another 20 wickets, whilst runs certainly shouldn’t be an issue with Root and Brook, not to mention the openers. Expect England to double their series lead.
