Legendary Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram expressed his excitement on seeing a young Pakistani fan perfectly imitating Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah’s unique style. The boy replicated Jasprit Bumrah’s action perfectly and the video went viral on social media platforms across the internet.
Jasprit Bumrah is known for his accurate yorkers and exceptional swing with a unique action. Bumrah has a huge fan following beyond India, making him one of the most lethal bowlers in the world. This pace ace has inspired many young bowlers around the world and aspiring pace batsmen look up to his skills.

In a viral video on X (formerly known as Twitter), the youngster perfectly imitated Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling action. His near-perfect imitation, from Bumrah’s unique run-up to his precise bowling stride, has impressed fans and cricket communities. The boy’s dedication and practice are evident in the viral video.
Pakistan has produced players like Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Asif and Shaheen Afridi, but the youngster was imitating Jasprit Bumrah. Wasim Akram praised the boy’s impeccable imitation, highlighting that the control and action were identical to Bumrah’s, and termed it as the “video of the day”.

The 30-year-old was instrumental in India’s victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA. Bumrah won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award for his excellent bowling performance. He picked up 15 wickets in eight matches at an average of 8.26 and an economy rate of 4.17.
Bumrah put in an exceptional performance in the final against South Africa in the recently concluded tournament. The veteran bowler conceded just six runs in his two overs when the opposing team needed 30 runs in 30 balls. The Rohit Sharma-led team won the match by seven runs and took the title.

Former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja has praised Jasprit Bumrah for his exceptional performance across all formats of cricket. Raja highlighted Bumrah’s impressive recovery from injury and his match-winning contributions, describing him as a legend across all three formats.
“In my opinion, Jasprit Bumrah is a legend in all three formats. There is no one greater than him who has played in all three formats. He is a player who lacks much confidence, has a strange bowling style. (As you can see, where this boy comes from, he lacked confidence, had a strange bowling style.) He was not in form but he recovered and now he has made India win the World Cup,” Raja said.
Jasprit Bumrah has played 36 Tests, 89 ODIs and 70 T20Is for India. He picked up 397 wickets across the three formats of the game. The 30-year-old is expected to return to action during India’s upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, which comprises three T20Is and as many ODIs.
