With the type of player Will Jacks is, it takes something special on the opponent’s part to get rid of him. The England player has already shown the extent of damage he can inflict on teams by scoring a 41-ball hundred against the Gujarat Titans early in the ongoing IPL 2024.

The right-handed batsman also started similarly in the ongoing game between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He raced to 12 runs off 6 balls with the help of a four and a six before a brilliant catch by Harshal Patel ended his stay at the crease.

On the fourth ball of the fifth over, debutant Vidhwath Kaverappa bowled a slower ball on the pads and Will Jacks tried to hit it on Harshal Patel, who was standing at backward square leg. The RCB batsman, however, failed to make a good connection although it still looked like he would be safe. However, Harshal Patel dived to his left to take a brilliant catch and returned the hard-hitting batsman.

Talking about the game, RCB were at 84 for 2 in the seventh over at the time of writing this report. Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar were batting in the middle order for the Bengaluru-based team. Asked to bat first, RCB got off to a poor start as Vidhwath Kaverappa dismissed their captain Faf du Plessis (9) and Jacks got into the powerplay cheaply.

However, Kohli and Patidar have steadied the ship for the visitors in Dharamsala. RCB will be hoping the duo make the most of their start and guide them to a winning total. The ongoing game is a do-or-die clash for both teams.

While the winning team will continue to compete for the playoffs, the losing team will be eliminated from IPL 2024. Both teams have four wins and six losses so far.
