All eyes were on Ravindra Jadeja as he came out to bat in the ongoing game between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The all-rounder was the talk of the town after being named in India’s squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Many believed that he did not deserve a place in India’s squad for the showpiece event. With Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja in the team, there is a view that the selectors made a mistake by choosing two players of similar profile.
Ravindra Jadeja got the chance to give a befitting reply to his critics on Wednesday (May 1) when he came out to bat against the Punjab Kings. CSK once again promoted him to number four after losing two wickets in nine overs.
The under-pressure all-rounder, however, failed to get going and was out for just 2 runs off 4 balls. Leg-spinner Rahul Chahar caught it in front of the wicket. And as soon as Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed for a single-digit score, several fans took to Twitter to take shots at him.

Talking about Ravindra Jadeja’s performance this season, he has scored 159 runs in 10 matches so far. 57 of those runs came in one inning. With the ball, he has got five wickets. Jadeja has managed to make useful contributions with both bat and ball so far and hopes to do so in the T20 World Cup as well to justify his place in the team.

CSK are in trouble in the ongoing match against PBKS. At the time of writing this report, they were reeling at 111 for 4 after 16 overs.
